Monday, September 1, 2014. Recently Tara and I took advantage of a long weekend to spend a few nights on the Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed at one of the many mega resorts along the Kohala coast, the north-west facing shore of the island. We perused our guidebook each morning over breakfast and picked a new area to explore that day. Much of the Kohala coast is steep, rocky shoreline which looks good for papio fishing. Esterday i headed west across the sound to fish with my friend steve. steve and i are both groms in the washington fishing scene. both of us are on journeys to figure stuff out in our local waters and both of us are having a great time doing it. On the menu for the day was some trolling for salmon. great call as that turned out to be the highlight of the day. We trolled a bit mor.
